What is Compress PDF?
The qpdf engine recompresses a PDF's object streams and internal data, cleaning out what isn't needed while keeping text and image quality intact. For image-heavy PDFs, the “Lower image quality” option shrinks them much further.

Will the quality drop?+
Lossless compression doesn't change the content. Lowering image quality recreates pages as images, so text can't be selected and quality drops slightly.
