What is Mac Filename Fixer?
macOS stores file names in decomposed Unicode (NFD), so when files move to Windows or some web services, accented letters can appear as a letter plus a separate mark, and Korean or Japanese characters can break apart. Add files or paste file names to see the normalized (NFC) name and download the files with fixed names.
How to use
- 1
Select files with broken names, or paste the file names.
- 2
Check the fixed names.
- 3
Download the renamed files (as a ZIP if there are several).
Use cases
Cleaning up a shared folder
Fix the names of files uploaded by Mac users.
Before submitting files
Normalize file names so they don't break on the recipient's system.
